Census data shows the evolution of Wentworth Point

Census data released this week has offered some valuable insights into Wentworth Point’s evolution over the last five years, as an ever-expanding community built around family and active living.

The data tells a story of a changing demographic, growing from 3,681 dwellings to currently more than 7,000. The number of investors in the area has also decreased from 61% to 59%, showing that more people are choosing to purchase and live in the suburb as a significant 40% of residents are currently owner occupiers.

Interestingly, the majority of Wentworth Point’s residents (64.2%) own just one vehicle, and the portion of those who do not own one at all has risen substantially from 4.8% in 2016, to 11.4.%. With people working from home more often and far less reliant on cars as a mode of transport, the jump is also a testament to the suburb’s connectivity, with many likely to be making good use of the multiple public transport options readily available to them.

As the first half of 2022 comes to a close, four property exchanges this week (102W/3 Lardelli Drive, Ryde, 1913/11 Wentworth Place, 405/3 Half Street and 306/5 Waterways Street, Wentworth Point) bring our monthly results to a total of 14 sales, and our yearly tally to 73 sales so far.

If adding to the growing number of owner-occupiers in Wentworth Point is in your property plans, we have four local homes to show you this week: 114/14 Baywater Drive - a superb entry level one bed in Messina with courtyard; 312/18 Corniche Drive - one bed in Catania with refreshed interiors, floorboards and low strata, 233/26 Baywater Drive - a brilliant corner two bed in Catania with spacious wraparound balcony; and 508/18 Footbridge Boulevard - a modern one bed and a sunlit winter garden with partial water views, within walking distance to Bennelong bridge and shops.
