Granville is a western city suburb of Sydney. It is located 22 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD. Most of the suburb is located in the local government area of the City of Parramatta, with a small part in the local government area of the City of Holroyd.

Getting there and getting around

Granville Railway Station is located on the South Line and Western Line of the Sydney Trains Network. As a major junction station on the Main Suburban Line it is serviced by the T1 Northern and Western Line and the T2 Inner West and South Line and also the NSW TrainLink Blue Mountains Line. The area can also be accessed by a number of buses including three routes of the Transdev NSW Network, the 906, M91 and S2.

Lifestyle and population

Granville is a large suburb with a rich history and many historical buildings and landmarks of note including the Granville Town Hall and The Royal Hotel (both dating from about 1888). The suburb is a mix of residential, commercial and industrial developments. The main commercial and shopping areas are located close to the train station and along Parramatta Road. There are many parks and recreation facilities in the area including Garside Park, Sydney Speedway and Granville Swimming Centre.
