Wolli Creek is a southern suburb of Sydney. It is located 10 kilometres south of the CBD, in the local government area of the City of Rockdale.

Getting there and getting around

Wolli Creek Station is on the Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line and also the Airport, Inner West & South Line of the Sydney Trains Network. Many buses service the area including the 348 and the 422 routes of Sydney Buses.

Lifestyle and population

Wolli Creek is in the process of urban renewal, transforming from a mostly industrial area into a vibrant mix of residential and commercial. Over the last ten years several residential developments have been built as well as shopping and café strips. There are plans to create a village style square close to the train station that will be a transport, retail and dining hub. The area boasts a number of parks and outdoor recreation areas including Discovery Point Park that has extensive cycling and walking tracks.

With a population of just under 3,000, less than 30% of Wolli Creek residents were born in Australia. Significant other countries of birth include China (17.7%), Indonesia (4%) and India (3.4%).  Just over 40% of households are occupied by couples without children. Couples with children represent about 22%, group households about 16% and sole occupancy households just over 10%.
