Tempe is an inner western suburb of Sydney. Located 9 kilometres south of the CBD, the suburb is in the local government area of the Marrickville Council. The suburb is on the northern banks of the Cooks River.
Getting there and getting around
Tempe Station is on the Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line of the Sydney Trains Network. Many buses service the area including the 422 and the 425 routes of Sydney Buses.

Tempe has an active commercial area and main shopping strip located on the Princes Highway. The area has a rich history and gets its name from the beautiful Tempe House, built in 1836 and now listed with the Heritage Council of New South Wales. The suburb has a number of parks and recreational areas including Tempe Recreational Reserve.
