Stanmore is an western suburb of Sydney. Located 6 kilometres south-west of the CBD it is in the local government area of Marrickville Council.
Getting there and getting around
Stanmore Station is on the Airport, Inner West & South Line of the Sydney Train Network. The suburb can also be accessed by several bus routes including Metrobuses M30 and M10 as part of Sydney Buses.

There is a small shopping strip close to Stanmore Station. The suburb has a number of schools, two of which – Newington College and Stanmore Public School – have buildings of heritage significance. There are a number of parks and outdoor recreation areas in Stanmore including Montague Gardens.
